  • Mary Pratt

Mary Pratt is a relative of Steph Woollard and a dear friend of The Celtic Way. She is deeply passionate about discovering family history, especially in the context of the times our ancestors lived in. Her wealth of knowledge in Irish history and culture adds richness and meaning to our heritage experiences.

Mary is also a fluent Irish speaker and carries a strong conviction to speak and savour the Irish language, keeping it alive as a vital link to the past and a source of pride for future generations.

She has shared her knowledge at group dinners in Donegal, helping guests connect with their heritage in powerful and personal ways. Mary also hosted a beautiful lunch and morning tea at her home in Buncrana, offering what’s been described as the best of Ireland’s welcome — known in Irish as Céad Míle Fáilte (a hundred thousand welcomes).

Guests enjoyed her homemade scones with jam and cream, a drop of Irish whiskey (or tea for non-whiskey drinkers), and the warm hospitality that has made it one of the most memorable local experiences on tour.

Her son, Jonathan Pratt, also a friend of The Celtic Way, welcomed our group with a fantastic lunch, further adding to the sense of connection and homecoming.

Mary’s generosity, knowledge, and love for Ireland continue to leave a lasting impact on all who meet her.

  • Wendy Drinan

Wendy Drinan brings warmth, experience and a shared passion for Ireland to The Celtic Way. As the wife of Peadar Drinan — a proud Irishman and founder of the What’s the Story campaign, which invites others to reconnect with their Irish heritage — Wendy shares not just in the vision, but in the journey itself.

She currently works at the iconic Bunratty Castle, one of Ireland’s most spectacular and storied castles, where she delights in helping visitors immerse themselves in the spirit and stories of the past. With a deep love for welcoming and guiding others, we love having Wendy as a dear friend of The Celtic Way.

  • Peadar Drinan

Peadar Drinan is an Irish artist whose deep love for Ireland – its history, its people, and its spiritual heart – runs through everything he creates. Based in Cork, Peadar’s artistic practice spans sculptural commissions and expressive oil paintings, many of which reflect Ireland’s ancient symbols, natural landscapes, and sacred heritage. His public works, like The Solar Ring and The Healing Hand Triptych, evoke a sense of both timeless mythology and modern healing.

But Peadar’s devotion to Ireland extends beyond the canvas.

In recent years, he launched a heartfelt campaign titled “What’s the Story”, a cultural movement aimed at reconnecting Irish people and visitors alike with the deeper stories behind the places, saints, and traditions that shape Ireland’s identity. Central to this is his admiration for St. Patrick, not just as a historical figure, but as a symbol of personal transformation, courage, and spiritual rootedness.

Alongside him in this mission is his wife, a passionate storyteller in her own right, who currently works at one of Ireland’s most spectacular heritage sites — Bunratty Castle in County Clare. Known for its immersive tours and living history experiences, Bunratty is a perfect fit for someone as dedicated to sharing Irish culture as she is. Together, they embody a shared belief in the power of stories to bring the past to life and to inspire the present.
